bear stearns

  • Assisted Joint Official Liquidators with an asset recovery and wind down
  • Managed liquidators' efforts pursuing litigation claims (in excess of $1 billion) and accompanying forensic work and analysis
  • Performed fund accounting for the two offshore hedge funds
  • Managed reporting requirements mandated by the Court of Grand Cayman and related statutory requirements
  • Provided litigation support, including document review, complaint review and revisions, financial analysis, and assisting counsel with deposition preparation and with the preparation of expert witnesses 

the port authority of ny & nj

  • Retained by the Port Authority of New York/New Jersey to assist with the proof of claim for the insurance coverage related to the damage caused by the events of 9/11/2001
  • Performed various analyses to calculate damages, including (1) the business interruption loss, (2) the extra expense incurred, and (3) the physical losses
  • Assisted with negotiations with the insurance company and broker regarding this unprecedented claim

credit suisse

  • Retained as expert on behalf of Credit Suisse with respect to the nature of bank loan participations and distressed company loan restructurings

private equity dispute

  • Retained by the majority investor in a private equity fund to perform a forensic review of the actions of the general partner of an investment company after potentially illicit behavior was discovered
  • Reviewed all management fees taken over the life of the fund

  • Retained by external counsel and general counsel of a venture capital firm to investigate the dealings of the CEO of a portfolio company.

  • Retained to assist the independent directors of a hedge fund in proving that the funds’ money was not hopelessly commingled with another fund that was involved in an alleged Ponzi scheme
  • Performed a detailed asset tracing analysis to determine the cash inflow and cash outflow of the funds, including large-scale document review
